Founded in 2013 by Oregon brewing legend John Harris, Ecliptic Brewing fuses Harris's twin passions for brewing and astronomy into a unique brewery concept. Harris brings over three decades of brewing experience, having shaped the beer programs at McMenamins, Deschutes (where he created Mirror Pond Pale Ale and Black Butte Porter), and Full Sail before launching Ecliptic. The brewery's name and celestial theme reflect Harris's fascination with astronomy, with beers named after astronomical events and celestial bodies. Harris is known for his innovative approach to hop-forward beers and experimental brewing techniques. While the original North Portland location has closed, Ecliptic continues operations through its production facility in Eugene and other locations, maintaining Harris's legacy of quality brewing and creative recipe development. Ecliptic represents the pinnacle of Harris's brewing career, combining his decades of expertise with his personal passion for the cosmos.
