pFriem Family Brewers launched in summer 2012 when Josh Pfriem, Ken Whiteman, and Rudy Kellner transformed a chance meeting at a child's birthday party into one of Oregon's most acclaimed breweries. After a bike trip through Belgium where Josh knocked on the doors of Europe's greatest brewers, he was inspired to meld European and Northwestern brewing traditions into something uniquely pFriem. Located in Hood River with views of the Columbia River Gorge, the brewery has earned international recognition for their Belgian-inspired beers and exceptional pilsners. pFriem won the 2017 European Beer Star Gold for Traditional Belgian-Style Saison and was named Best Midsize Brewery in the U.S. at the 2018 Great American Beer Festival. Their Frambozen took GABF gold in 2023, while their Super Saison won the Brussels Beer Challenge American Revelation Fermentis Trophy. The brewery and restaurant offer elevated pub fare alongside their artisanal beers, making pFriem a culinary and brewing destination in the Gorge.
