Full Sail Brewing
About Full Sail Brewing
Founded in 1987 in the Columbia River Gorge, Full Sail Brewing (originally Hood River Brewing Company) is one of Oregon's earliest craft breweries and a pioneer of the Pacific Northwest beer scene. Operating in a converted Diamond Fruit canning facility, Full Sail became the first commercially successful craft brewery in the Pacific Northwest to bottle beer for retail sale, producing 287 barrels in their first year. Their Amber Ale and Brown Ale won gold medals at the 1989 Great American Beer Festival, the first of about 150 gold medals the company would earn. In 2005, Full Sail introduced Session Premium Lager in iconic stubby bottles, a tribute to pre-Prohibition beers that was named World's Best Premium Lager at the World Beer Awards. The employee-owned brewery has been named Craft Brewer of the Year by Beverage World Magazine for their sustainable stewardship, quality, consistency and operational ingenuity.
